dramas are of late C. Alvares. This also includes dramas of late Prem Kumar. I am very indebted to late C. Alvares, because it is he who gave me the professional chance, due to which what I am today. He always guided me in the right direction. Thereafter I proceeded to Kuwait for work in 1974 till 2000, where I used to take part in the dramas being held there. This was a turning point of my career because here I progressed rapidly and became very famous for my solos. It was also here that we formed the famous Marcus-Cajetan-Xavier trio. I also put up my own dramas in Kuwait:- 1. Kazaracho Inam (Wedding Gift) 2. Soumsarant Konn Vhoddlo? (Who is the greatest in the world?) 3. Hanv Tuka Kedimch Bhogsichim Nam (I shall never forgive you). Simultaneously, I also used to play the drums and played for different groups/bands. After the Kuwait stint, I came down to Goa for good. In Goa, I started with the famous drama ‘Ti Mhoji Maim’ and there has been no looking back till date. I have acted for almost all the major directors of the Konkani stage. I have also played the drums here in Goa too, professionally.
I have produced 3 highly acclaimed audio albums:
1. Bore Kristanv (Good Christians)
2. Otmeank Rozar Kor (Pray for the soul)
3. Jezuk Okman Kelo (Jesus was insulted).
I have also produced highly acclaimed video albums:
1. Ghorkarachi Zhodd (Husband’s Pay)
2. Bhavancho Ekvott (Brothers’ Unity).
Till today I have sung for as many as 75 different audio albums. My songs contain unique subjects and issues which have been well taken by the audiences and my favourites songs include Ghoddial (Watch), Udok (Water), Mati (Clay), Fator (Stone), Pen (Pen), Bodi (Stick), Sunnem (Dog), Vath (Candle), etc. I have performed throughout Goa and various places in India like Karnataka, Mumbai, New Delhi etc. I have also performed several times in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Bahrain, Qatar, United Kingdom and Germany. I have also received several awards in my career but till today audience applause that receive with each perform is my greatest award each time, which I cherish very very dearly. Right now I am working on my new audio album entitled ‘Panchayat’, which is definitely going to be favourite of the masses and is due for release shortly. To conclude, whenever I look back at my life and career and feel very satisfied that I made the optimum use of God’s talents given to me. |
